40 Under 40 Award
40 Under 40 is an awards program through the Produce Business magazine that recognizes those who have done an exceptional job in the produce industry. Marc Marchini, on our sales team and Vice President of Operations here at J. Marchini Farms, had the honor of receiving the award for all that he has contributed to J. Marchini Farms and the produce industry. Marc Marchini's passion for sales and fresh produce started as a young child when he would travel to farmers markets in the bay area with his Mother. Marc's farmer duties continued to increase every summer and by the time he was in college, he would track sales forecasts for inventory and look at market trends for the Fourth of July and Labor Day. After he graduated college from California State University Chico, Marchini came back to his passion for agriculture at J. Marchini Farms. Working on the sales desk, he would send out passings, dispatch trucks and notify the cooler of the orders for the day. When the company added figs to its product line, he began selling them. He created a successful fresh fig program, maintained customer relationships, settles contracts with major domestic and export customers and streamlined sales and packing processes. In addition to the sales department, he began to oversee production duties, starting with quality checks and gradually took over the entire process and facility. He then began working to improve the food safety department that keeps up with the standards of today's consumers. J. Marchini is proud and thankful of all the work that Marc has done to improve J.
